Combine a visit to Crystal Waters with a tasting of unique liqueurs created from indigenous fruits and leaves that occur naturally on or near John and Mary King’s property at Aherns Rd, Conondale.

Cellar Door and Tastings

Available 7 days a week, by appointment. Tastings are $5 per person, and this charge is deducted from liqueur purchases.

You can also request a tour of the property and some of the plants used for liqueurs when you visit.

Tasting Highlights

The call of the Australian bush echoes through these indulgences, from the smell, to the colour, to the taste.

Highlights include:

Anisata Liqueur – created using the rippled leaf of the ‘aniseed myrtle’, with a gentle, true aniseed flavour. A delightful liquorice sip after a light dessert.

Wujugay Liqueur – a scrambling shrub found in the darkest areas of Riparian Rainforest, with scanty fruiting and long ripening time. A guava-like note with a peppery background.

Gidneywallum Liqueur – made from the soft, deep purple stem that develops instead of fruit to hold the fruit of this predecessor of pine trees. A plum-like taste.

Kandertal Liqueur – made with the Australian Desert lime to give a true citrus bite. Distinctive lime family flavour.

Ke-ril Liqueur – made from native fig, which turns a rich purple colour when ripe. A sweet, full, fruity fig flavour.

Plus many more available to try during your cellar door visit. All liqueurs come with a wealth of information about their origins.
